Growth factors, PRGF® (plasma rich in growth factors) Endoret®
We use a technique of regeneration of tissues, in our case bone and gum, based on growth factors.
Growth factors are essentially a series of molecules that come in the platelets. Earlier on it was thought that the platelets sole function was to coagulate blood. But today we know that within them there are a multitude of granules full of more or less complex molecules responsible for detecting injuries, blocking their deterioration, launching the healing process, stimulate regenerative cells, regulate and modulate the order of this regeneration, so that in the time it takes nature to perform those jobs, a new tissue can be formed without any signs of the old injury.
We use the PRGF®-Endoret® technology which consists of the following. We extract a small amount of blood from the patient, centrifuge it (spin dry it), we then eliminate the surplus or leftovers (white blood cells responsible for the swelling and red blood cells in charge of transporting O2 and CO2), we obtain and separate the plasma (liquid part of the blood) where the platelets swim, we concentrate it and even coagulate it. Then we return it to the affected zone in the mouth with the right consistency. This simple technique allows the concentration and multiplication of the capacity of regeneration of a given organism where is needed, such as the cavity in the root bone after an extraction, or around the implant that we have inserted, etc. Besides it accelerates the process and it is useful in the matter of transport and fixation of grafts and so on.
